Maybelline loves spaghetti and sweet nothings, and she loves Leroy, too. But when Leroy forgets the third and final rule of caring for Maybelline, disaster ensues. Can Leroy wrestle fate to the ground, rescue the horse of his heart, and lasso loneliness for good?
Maya and the Robot
By Eve L. Ewing & Christine Almeda

For the first time since kindergarten, her best friends Jada and MJ are placed in a different class without her, and introverted Maya has trouble making new friends. Just when too much seems to be changing, she finds a robot named Ralph in the back of Mr. Mac’s convenience store closet. Once she uses her science skills to get him up and running, a whole new world of connection opens up as Ralph becomes a member of her family and Maya begins to step into her power.
Maybe Marisol#1: Maybe Maybe Marisol Rainey
By Erin Entrada Kelly
Available as a book, CD audiobook, Playaway, and ebook.
Summary: Marisol Rainey’s mother was born in the Philippines. Marisol’s father works and lives part-time on an oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico. And Marisol, who has a big imagination and likes to name inanimate objects, has a tree in her backyard she calls Peppina . . . but she’s way too scared to climb it. This all makes Marisol the only girl in her small Louisiana town with a mother who was born elsewhere and a father who lives elsewhere (most of the time)—the only girl who’s fearful of adventure and fun.
Real Pigeons #1: Real Pigeons Fight Crime
By Andrew McDonald & Ben Wood
Summary: What do REAL PIGEONS do? They fight crime, of course! Wait, what? You didn’t know your town is protected by a secret squad of crime-fighting feathered friends? Well, you are about to get schooled. REAL PIGEONS solve mysteries! REAL PIGEONS fight bad guys! And REAL PIGEONS won’t stop until your neighborhood is safe and the questions are all answered: Like, why have all the breadcrumbs disappeared? And which food truck smells the best?
Planet Omar #1: Accidental Trouble Magnet
By Zanib Mian & Nasay Mafaridik
Available as a book.
Summary: My parents decided it would be a good idea to move house AND move me to a new school at the same time. As if I didn’t have a hard enough time staying out of trouble at home, now I’ve also got to try and make new friends. What’s worse, the class bully seems to think I’m the perfect target and has made it his mission to send me back to Pakistan. But I’ve never even been to Pakistan! And my cousin told me the pizza there is YUCK. The only good thing is that Eid’s just around the corner which means a feast of all my favourite food (YAY) and presents (DOUBLE YAY). I’m really hoping I can stay in Mum and Dad’s good books long enough to get loads…
Simon B. Rhymin’#1: Simon B. Rhymin’
By Dwayne Reed

But for now, he’s just a Chicago fifth grader who’s small for this age and afraid to use his voice. Simon prefers to lay low at school and at home, even though he’s constantly spitting rhymes in his head. But when his new teacher assigns the class an oral presentation on something that affects their community, Simon must face his fears. With some help from an unexpected ally and his neighborhood crew, will Simon gain the confidence to rap his way to an A and prove that one kid can make a difference in his ‘hood?

And not just any camper; a magic camper that can transport them to every state in the continental US. This is perfect for Maggie, who loves geography and is a star student, and for Spencer, who’s been failing his geography quizzes and could use the real life extra credit. Together, the twins travel to a surprising new place–the rolling fields of Colorado! There they get suited up in cowboy gear, eat a hearty breakfast in the Mess Hall, and join a cattle drive. But when the group takes a moment to rest, the ranch’s prized cow, Snowflake, is stolen by a band of rogue cowboys. The twins must discover how to work together in order to save Snowflake, and find their way home again.
