In a few days, libraries in Allegheny County are changing how patrons borrow digital items in Libby and Hoopla. Due to increased demand and cost of digital audiobooks, ebooks, and streaming, the following changes will go into effect on September 1:
- Patrons can only borrow 5 items from Hoopla per month instead of 15
- Patrons can only borrow 10 items from Libby at a time instead of 20*
- Patrons can only place 10 holds in Libby at a time instead of 20
- Patrons must enter their library card PIN to use Libby
*If you have more than 10 holds in Libby on September 1, you will not lose your holds. However, you will not be able to add any more holds until your total number of holds is below 10.
