Library Director, Head of Adult & Teen Departments

Heather Panella (panellah@moonlibrary.org)

Miss Heather is the Director & Teen Services Librarian for Moon Township Public Library. She has a BA in Secondary English Education from Geneva College and a Master of Library Science & Information Technologies from Mansfield University. Prior to becoming part of Moon Township Public Library, Miss Heather was a high school and middle school English teacher. When she’s not reading or sipping tea, she can be found hanging out with her daughter Sophie and her three pups Geno, Nico, & Marco. Miss Heather is fond of British television, classic novels, and all things musical theater related. She loves to read YA novels, fantasy, and historical fiction. Her favorite authors are Jodi Picoult, John Green, Chaim Potok, and (of course) Emily Bronte & Jane Eyre. And her guilty pleasure is always going to be Twilight! Miss Heather highly recommends that you read Bridge of Clay by Markus Zusak, Love & Other Consolation Prizes by Jamie Ford, The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E. Schwab, and Water for Elephants by Sarah Gruen.

Assistant Director, Head of Children’s Department

Megan Goode (goodem@moonlibrary.org)

Megan Goode is the Assistant Director and Children’s Department Head here at the Moon Township Public Library. The Children’s Department has blossomed with hard work and dedication. She earned her Masters of Library Science from Clarion University in 2009, and has been a Moon Library staff member for nearly 10 years now. Her two sons Robbie and Joshua have practically grown up here!  Miss Megan LOVES to read Children and Young Adult books. She considers Judy Blume her hero, however her favorite book is The Book Thief by Marcus Zusak.  She also loves Starring Sally J. Freedman as Herself by Blume, Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys, Brown Girl Dreaming by Jacqueline Woodson, Miss Rumphius by Barbara Cooney, Tikki Tikki Tembo by Arlene Mosel. Anything by  Mo Willems she loves as well.

Technical Services Librarian

Roxanne Cain (cainr@moonlibrary.org)

Roxanne Cain is the reference and technology librarian at Moon. She received her B.A. in Writing and her M.L.I.S. at the University of Pittsburgh with specializations in preservation and social media. She prepares books for circulation, sorts donations, repaired damaged items, and evaluates rare and vintage books. She also is the library’s webmaster and the go-to person for reference or technology questions. Her favorite books include The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov and the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy series by Douglas Adams. She enjoys playing video games, running tabletop roleplaying games, drawing, writing, and practicing martial arts.

Nicole Beatty (beattyn@moonlibrary.org)

Nicole Beatty received her Bachelor’s in Recreation Management from Slippery Rock University in 2014.  Nicole has just completed work with the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida. Miss Nicole loves reading, writing, making art, and crafting. However, her real love is Star Wars and Doctor Who! Feel free to pick her brain! Her favorite books are Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë, Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, The Fault in Our Stars by John Green, and the Harry Potter series. Her favorite children’s books are by Beatrix Potter, and the many Paddington Bear tales.

Our library wouldn’t be as successful as it is without the hard work of our circulation clerks, library pages, and volunteers. They are the ones who check out your books, keep our shelves organized, and place holds for that new movie you just can’t wait to see.
