You’ve heard about in-ground flower beds and raised beds, but have you heard about a mound bed or a hill bed? Well, that is what hugel means: a hill bed. Learn about hugelkultur gardening, a no-till, no-dig technique from Germany and Eastern Europe with roots going back over a hundred years, on March 19 at 6 PM with Master Gardener Elaine Silver Liberati of Shaler Garden Club.
Attendees will learn about composting in hills to improve soil fertility, irrigation, and longer growing surfaces with materials from your own backyard.
